EMDR Trained
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), started as a procedure for treating trauma specifically. Since Francine Shapiro's formulation of the procedure in 1987, EMDR has burgeoned into a full psycho-therapeutic perspective; a way of understanding responses, emotions, ideas, and whole health. EMDR works to reorganize memory; to transform traumatic memories (those for which the body mobilizes fight or flight response) into narrative memories (those memories we may reflect upon with relative comfort).
